Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Students applying to the DVIE scholarship must be:
- Planning on entering the education profession in K-12 public schools, this includes: teacher, administrator, school counselor, school psychologist, social worker, library media specialist, speech and language pathologist.
- A minority as recognized by the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education: Black, Native-American/Alaskan Native, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino/a.
- A Glastonbury High School graduating senior.
- Membership in Future Educators of Diversity club is preferred
Scholarship Award
Award winners receive a one-time scholarship of $1,000.

- Include your student resume
- No financial information is required for this scholarship.
- Please attach a copy of your transcript to this application packet (see link above).
- Essay (approximately 600 words)
Please respond to the following prompts:
– Why is it important to have diverse voices represented in education?
– What unique life experiences would you bring to education (including your ethnicity)? - Candidates should be prepared to sit for an interview if deemed necessary by the scholarship committee.
